There are many, many steps to complete a Western custom boot. Some see if you can keep a boat in hand, others are hidden from view when a boat is finished and ready to wear. Here is a summary (see note) of steps needed to make a boat ... Click on the photos for yourself to see a close-up.

Take your foot and the calf muscle
2 Design
Choose skin
Select toe and heelstyle
Design boot tops
3. Boot Tops
Prepare paper patterns
Cut tops, lining, front and back stays, and pull-straps out of leather
Skive appropriate edges of top pieces
Assemble tops with cement, including beading
Sew tops and pull-straps with inlays, overlays, and stitch patterns
4. Vamps
Cut vamps and lining
Stretch vamps and lining over crimpboards.
Measure, trim and attach vamps and foot linings to tops
5. Counter
Cut hard leather meters and measuring
Fissure, fit, and cement to start at the top
Skive and cement counters
Sewing desk and counter top trim
6 Side seams and laces
Cutting, concrete, and sew the world side (piping)
Rub flat seams
Install pull-straps
Top Turn right side out
7 Load assembly
Compare the latest measurement standards of the foot
Last building (if necessary) with skin
SmoothFinish
8 Solothurn
Nail to the last base
Structure and shape of the insole
Cut-channel world
9 Fingers durable, and the boot
Taken wet sheet and count toward the final
Again with thumbtacks
Pour vamp leather toe boxes and the position
Cement, dry, soft toe-box
Roll again and vamp leather toe boxes
10 Inseaming by trees and tree cover
Punch holes through the base with weevil
Inseaming random wire through the world andInsole
Trim and flatten seam
Sew sewing class, or the heel peg
Place steel shaft, or 40 cents a flattened nails
Fill the bottom of the shaft and base with pieces of leather
Form / grind the tree, then PEG
11 Installing Soles and anchoring
Cut the width you want the world
Cement and unique structure of the world
Sewing and peg soles
Ink and finished in front of the sole
12 Stacking Heels
Layers of the stack, cement and leather trim heel
Nail or PEG-heels, and addRubber heel cap
Sand heel final form adapted
13 Completion of the boat
Ink heel
